Click on Settings in the top right hand corner of the JohnnyVoIP application.
Then Click on the Flash Privacy Settings button.
Within the new window, Click on the Privacy Tab (Computer with an eye) and make sure your Privacy Settings are set to ALLOW (with the remember checkbox clicked if you do not want to do this each time). Click the close button.
Finally, make sure your microphone and camera are working properly. Within JohnnyVoIP in the upper right hand corner, select Settings. Use the two drop-down lists to select your installed camera and microphone.
This should make flash happy with JohnnyVoIP!
Make sure you've downloaded the latest version of Adobe's Flash Software which is Version 9 or up.
There can be a few reasons why this might be the case:
Quit any other programs that might be using your camera. e.g. iChat, Skype, MSN, AIM etc.
Second, check to make sure your camera has been installed correctly. In Windows (PC) you can test these settings in your control panel, or (often) from the software that came with you webcam. In OSX [Mac] you can test this with other camera software such as Photo Booth. The default built-in webcam on Mac OSX is usually labeled with "USB Video Class Video", which may be a little confusing.
Make sure your microphone is plugged in and installed correctly.
Also, check to make sure that you haven't inadvertantly clicked mute on the button next to the Video Window.
Check your volume. Settings under Sound and Audio Device Properties for windows. And sound in System Preferences on a Mac.
Also, check to make sure that you haven't inadvertantly clicked mute on the sound button next to the Video Window.
This is caused by the microphone picking up sound from your speakers and then send it back you. Neat eh?
Put on some earphones and it will probably go away (it should). If not, click on Settings in the top right hand corner of the JohnnyVoIP Application
Then Click on Flash Privacy Settings
Click on the Microphone Settings and choose what you'd like to use as your microphone and check the box that says, reduce echo.
There are a number of things that can affect the quality and speed of JohnnyVoIP. First, is probably that your Internet connection is slow or you (or someone you love) is downloading movies/music/tv-shows etc.
If this isn't the case then let use know! We're trying to improve the service and figure out where the bottlenecks are. The best way to test your camera is to click on the Settings link in the top right hand corner.
A little box will open that will try to show the webcam and microphone inputs. There is a drop-down list of cameras that are attached to your computer. Select the one which you would like to use. If there are no camera in the list, then your camera is incorrectly installed.
Within JohnnyVoIP under Settings check under the microphone drop-down list to find your installed audio device. If you are not sure which one you are using, select different ones and check if you see the activity indicator move next to the video window.
